Ethics Complaints.
The City and City Council take ethics complaints very seriously. We have found ourselves on the receiving end of three complaints in the past twelve months – two of which have been filed by the same party and which are related to an eminent domain case for the Bee Cave Road right-of-way acquisition. One of those two complaints was filed in late March, just seven weeks before the election.
As much as I would like to clear the air on these complaints, now is not the time. The City and Council have been advised by outside legal counsel to refrain from discussing these matters until the associated cases have run their course through the legal system.
I am confident that when the legal process has run its course, we’ll have answers to these and many other questions.
I will not engage in negative campaigning. I have submitted to the City my signed “Fair Campaign Practices” pledge. As of today (April 28th) my opponent has not. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
